Welcome
Welcome to Oz.
This isn't the Oz of your childhood. This is the Oz of recently-deposed dictators, of slightly-crazy old maunts... this is the Oz where things happened differently. This is the Oz of Wicked.
No One Mourns the Wicked is a post-Wicked RP, based off the musical, the book and some of L. Frank Baum's original Oz books. We welcome both original characters and canonical ones, and encourage all of you to enter this 'merry old land' of Oz.
Coding and graphics are courtesy of Nessarose and our first Glinda. We don't own any aspect of Wicked, save for any original characters that are created here.

Character Information
The Basics:
Name: Dorothy Gale Alias(es): sometimes Princess, most often just Dorothy Date of Birth: December 8 Age: 13 Astrological Sign: Sagittarius Gender: female Played by: Judy Garland
Physical Attributes:
Physical Description:
Since she is still young, and not fully grown, Dorothy is a bit on the short side, except, of course, if she is standing next to a Munchkin, but even then, the Tin Man is taller than her, though she doesn't know of his past. The one thing she likes about the shoes is that they have a bit of a heel, and they make her slightly taller...
She has brownish red, curly hair which she usually braids or pulls back with a ribbon, and big, serious brown eyes.
Her figure is quite- boyish, because she has been endowed with late-onset puberty. Not that she minds, since she isn't surrounded by preteen girls who make fun of her. It is slowly starting to develop, however.
Clothing:
Due to the unfortunate events surrounding her arrival in Oz, Dorothy wears the dress she came in with- a blue and white gingham dress. Even though she now has access to different clothes, she still often is seen in this dress, for the following two reasons: most people recognize her (it's her trademark) and most Oz clothing is unnatural for her. She will, however, wear other clothing if she needs to- i.e. some important function where the dress would not be suitable.
She wears the infamous ruby slippers, but not because she wants to. She finds them uncomfortable and she wishes she could take them off. She doesn't know about their powers, and so she doesn't get why they are so important.
Mental Information:
Hobbies: annoying the older people, missing home, standing up for what she thinks is right, feeling guilty if someone feels bad about something she did Likes: Kansas; Toto; Ozma; Glinda; the Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Man; parts of Oz, especially what she percieves to be the glamourous parts Dislikes: the Wizard, the shoes, cows Fears: tigers, bears, bees, wolves, flying monkeys, crows, the Wicked Witches, Overall Personality:
While the current Dorothy is very different from Dorothy that entered Oz, more mature and more tactful, Dorothy is in most respects still a child. She misses home, mainly her family, and she still doesn't have an adultlike grasp of what is going on around her- she sees more than most children her age would, but she is not completely ready.
For example, Dorothy still believes that she is in a dream at times, especially when everything is going well. She has a bad habit of playing with her hair when she gets uncomfortable. Dorothy will also spit out her mind about what she thinks, and this can get her in trouble.
She feels guilty about the deaths of Nessarose and Elphaba, or, as she knew them, the Wicked Witches. She is still uneasy about the whole "murder" thing, and the fact that she has become disenfranchized with the Wizard for lying to her hasn't made that better, since he was happy about it...
Dorothy does have good qualities, though. She is smart, inquistive, and this leads her to find things that some adults don't have the patience for. She also sees things more clearly than adults because she tries not to judge or assume, though her first impressions are hard to sway.
She also tends to talk in very long sentences when she's nervous.
History:
Hometown: Kansas Marital Status: single, not looking, did you catch the age? Family: Auntie Em, Uncle Henry Friends: the lion, the scarecrow, the tin man, glinda, and ozma History:
Dorothy was born in Kansas, a very boring state unless you happen to be from there, which means, most of the time, Dorothy loved it. Sure, she didn't like the farm life, but she loved her family.
So there she was, minding her own buisness, and this tornado comes and sweeps her and Toto to Oz. Where she lands on a witch. Then she's told by another to go see a wizard, who tells her to go kill another witch and bring back a broom and a book, but she doesn't want to. She tries to apologize, but she accidentally kills her, so there's this big celebration 'cause the witch is dead and it turns out the wizard isn't a wizard and was her father- at this point, Dorothy doesn't really remember much, as she was really stressed and hadn't slept in awhile. She remembers feeling like she was going to go home, but then waking up in Oz.
She is still friends with the people who helped her when she first arrived, and she has become friends with the new ruler, the Ozma. She is still adjusting, and she doesn't really get why everybody seems to hate her. Though she won't admit it outloud, she is also becoming attatched to her new home and her life here.

Ooh, Dorothy... watch out for Nessa and Elphie.
I think the shoes are, by this RP's canon, in Quadling Country - they fell off Dorothy's feet when she left Oz, Ozma picked 'em up, and they've been sent South for safety.
